Septeto Santiaguero: Latin America is a natural stage

Latin America is a natural stage for Cuban music, assured Fernando Dewar, director of the famous Septeto Santiaguero, musical group which is now making a tour through Venezuelan cities.

The group that won the 2015 Latin Grammy Award in the Best Traditional Tropical Album Category for the album No quiero llanto. Tributo a Los Compadres intends to promote this record in a large journey that will take them soon to regions of the continent.

The band leader said their short term objective is to present this production in Venezuela, performing together with José Alberto El Canario and also with Tiburón Morales.

In fact, as we want to perform in many cities, it’s probable that we do it more than once during the year; we have already presented the proposal which we hope to come true as the Venezuelan public will enjoy it a lot, he stated.

Dewar expressed how beautiful and spontaneous signs of affection they have received mostly in nations like Colombia, Mexico and Brazil.

He also said that they soon will be at the Dominican Republic with José Alberto El Canario, promoting the album through radio and television and a presentation abroad for the first time in a place called Escenario 360 de Santo Domingo.

It is definitely a very positive moment in our career and the fact that we are now more than ever in contact with a Latin public corroborates it, he stated.

Before concluding, he meant that the fans in the continent feel this music in a different way and they know the repertoire they play and defend.

The Septeto Santiaguero recently premiered Amor Silvestre, third promotional video of the Latin Grammy winner album and an audiovisual directed by the Swedish filmmaker Michel Miglis and dedicated to its composer Reinaldo Hierrezuelo, last member of Los Compadres, who recently died.
