With its heroes, rituals, temples and values, football often resembles a veritable contemporary "religion". Co-produced by a European network of urban history museums, Divinely Football! is a unique exhibition dedicated to the sociology of football, to be presented during the UEFA Euro 2016 championship taking place throughout France.
International in its approach and content, the exhibition invites visitors to relive legendary moments in the history of world football, plunging them into the excitement of a match and helping them to understand what lies behind this collective passion.
The exhibition will also include a local dimension, with a focus on Lyon and the Olympique Lyonnais team, made possible by the collaboration of Vincent Duluc, the leading journalist of L’Équipe magazine’s football section and author of the recently-published Un printemps 76 (A Spring, 76).
