Adolf Fleischmann Retrospective

Adolf Fleischmann (1892-1968) was a major German abstract painter. His late work evolved into constructivism and he is considered a precursor of Op Art.

With outstanding loans from international museums and important private collections - including a number of works on public display for the first time - this major retrospective features around 60 paintings, collages and gouaches spanning three decades. It focuses specifically on Fleischmann's New York period (1952-1965) and on key works from the 1940s.

Part of Daimler Art Collection’s ‘Classical: Modern’ series, this retrospective is accompanied by Dieter Blum. Cowboys. The first shooting 1992. Presented for the first time in its entirety, this series of 60 photographs made Dieter Blum (b.1936) the most widely and internationally known photographer in his field.

Two installations by Hartmut Böhm and Andreas Schmid specially commissioned for the Daimler Art Collection complement this exceptional program.
