Wines from the New World put on a show of their own during the 6th edition of the International Excelencias Gourmet Seminar, by the hand of a lecture and tasting session entitled U.S. Wines: The Growing Pleasure by sommelier René Garcia, sponsored by Inversiones Pucara S.A.
There were two California-grown wines that brought delight to those attending one of Cuba’s major gastronomic events, this time around held at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba.
All participants enjoyed and shared views with professor and sommelier René Garcia, who spoke about America’s geography, especially California, its soils, climate, the influence exerted by the Pacific Ocean and other general features.
During his recount of the American history, Mr. Garcia referred to the Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc wines, sipped out of a Mourning Fog Wente, Livemore Valley, California 2012. He also broached the main grapevines grown in that U.S. region.
