Third Edition of Vladimir Malakhov Grand Prix Convened

HAVANA, Cuba.- The third edition of the North Atlantic Dance Contest and the Vladimir Malakhov 2016 Grand Prix, which will take place on September 24-30 in the city of Holguin, has made its official announcement and will be opened to participants until 30 July, according to a press release by the organizers.

 

This competition, in charge of dancer Malakhov, Chilean Paul Seaquist and the Codanza Company of Holguin, aims to promote dance and choreographic creation in the country.

 

The festival will give the Audience Award and the Paul Seaquist Ward consisting of scholarships and specialization for summer courses with the companies Alvin Ailey, of New York, and Joffrey Ballet, of Chicago.

 

Performers, choreographers and companies from around the world of the classical, neoclassical and contemporary genres will be able to participate in the categories of interpretation, composition and best staging by a group.

 

Dancers opting for the Vladimir Malakhov Grand Prix must be between 18 and 35 years of age, while choreographers who choose to compete for the Codanza Grand Prize must be over 18.

The third edition of the North Atlantic Dance Contest and the Vladimir Malakhov Grand Prix 2016 will be held at the Eddy Suñol Theater of Holguin, and the awards gala will take place on September 30.
