Cuban Record House prepares album for Fidel Castro’s 90th birthday

Siboney Estudios, from EGREM record company, is preparing the album Felicidades, Fidel, in order to celebrate the 90th birthday of revolutionary leader, in August.

 

Jorge Luis Pujals, producer and winner of a Cubadisco Award, reported the record, to be a combination of music and poetry, includes pieces by popular performers as Candido Fabre and Kike Corona and late troubadours deceased Sara Gonzalez and Rene Urquijo, as well as poems with music that celebrate the personality of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.

 

Pujals added that there is also a recording with the four main congas of the city, a peculiar local musical-dance expression place that is paradigm of traditional folk culture.

 

In this line of characterization are inserted works that reflect folklore and Cuban-Haitian-African tradition in the Eastern part of the country and others that will show the love of singer Augusto Blanca for this city and the hits of Eliades Ochoa, Francisco Repilado (Compay Segundo), Pacho Alonso, Son 14 and Karachi, he said.

 

Pujals also mentioned the album Ellas cantan mis canciones,  by composer Rodulfo Vaillant, with 14 romantic interpretations in the voice of Ivette Cepeda, Anais Abreu, Esperanza Ibis, Gina Leon, Nancy Maura and Yaima Saenz, supported by the arrangements of  Rafael Guedes.

 

Along its more than 35 years of existence, the Santiago de Cuba based venue of EGREM has made visible the musical work the creator of Cuban western and its present work  continues promoting legendary and new talents throughout the country.
