Los Van Van orchestra’s album “La Fantasía” to start the road towards the Grammy Awards

After a large tour around the United States, Cuban orchestra Los Van Van celebrates the Grammy Awards Committee admission to being included among the next edition’s nominees.

In declarations for the Cuban Television, the group’s present director Samuel Formell, replicated the board decision about their most recent album entitled La Fantasía, also the most sold record by Cuban recording house EGREM.

The album, released on December of 2014 to celebrate the orchestra’s 45th anniversary, became a hit with total sale of the almost eight thousands copies onto the market.

La Fantasía is also a tribute to the orchestra’s deceased founder, Juan Formell, who chose the same recording house for the production of some 15 records.

Los Van Van recently had the opportunity to promote themes included in the album during a tour that took them around 24 US cities and Puerto Rico.

Based on this success, EGREM’s art and repertoire director, Pedro Pablo Cruz confirmed the preparation of the group’s album Greatest Hits as one of the new offers for 2017, when the 59th Grammy Awards edition will be celebrated.

This award is conferred by the United States National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences to honor an especially relevant achievement in the musical industry.
