Latin American Artists Exhibit Works on Asuncion's Streets

Asuncion.- About 31 foreign artists and nine from Paraguay will be participating in a Latin American Street Art Festival today covering walls in the historic district of the capital with murals.

'Latido Americano' is the name of a movement started in Lima in 2012. The aim is to turn the city into a huge gallery, where the people can appreciate artistic pieces.

The festival uses the street as a space for communicative exchange, with the participation of experts and graffiti muralists from several Latin American countries.

For the first time, the event is taking place in Paraguay and will run throughout August as a tribute to its 479th founding anniversary.

'Discovering Paraguay' is the central issue of the exhibition. Its aim is to describe flora, fauna and identity of pre-Columbian Asuncion, according to an official press release.
