Cuban Dance Troupe to Open Dancing Festival in Russia

Havana.- Cuban ballet troupe Danza Contemporánea de Cuba (DCC) confirmed Monday that it will open the 2017 edition of the Russian International Dance Inversion Festival in Moscow on September 25, by an invitation by prestigious Russian Bolshoi and Stanivslaski Theaters respectively.

The Cuban main contemporary ballet dancing group will offer shows on September 25 and 26 at the Stanivslaski Theater in Moscow.

DCC is directed by Miguel Iglesias, and will offer a program formed by three successful pieces from its most recent repertoire: 'El Cristal' (The Glass), a choreography by Julio Cesar Iglesias; Tangos Cubanos, by British Billie Cowie; and Matria Etnocentra, by Cuban George Céspedes.

Besides DCC, companies such as Teac Danza de Irlanda; Rocío Molina from Spain; the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company (Germany); the Jessica Lang Dance from the US and groups from Montecarlo, Mónaco; Marseille, Francia, and Zurich, Switzerland, will take part in this edition..

Just on September 25, DCC will celebrate the 58th anniversary of its foundation and after the event of Moscow it will get ready to dance in October, in the City Center of New York, US.

This year, the company tackled a tour along several theaters of the United Kingdom, sponsored by the Dance Consortium and received a spectacular welcome of the European audience and press media.
