La Colmenita Projects in El Salvador Host 2nd National Festival

San Salvador.- The project La Colmenita in El Salvador, established here with Cuba''s assistance, will host the 2nd Children''s Theater Festival, organized by cultural authorities in this Central American nation.

The Fest, as this event by the National Culture Houses Directorate for the Development of Coexistence and Good Living is known, will feature 12 works from 26 similar companies established in the country.

This event of songs, games and dances, designed to show the learning processes of children and youths in the Culture Houses of their community, will open on October 11.

The festival will begin with a play by La Colmenita company of El Mozote, entitled 'El Caserio Encantado' (The Enchanged Village), which shows how the Salvadoran people heal their wounds and recover their hopes after the massacre perpetrated by the military during the civil war (1980-1992).

Other performances in the program of the festival are 'Las recuerdas de las bolas de fuego', inspired in the traditions of Nejapa, and classic plays such as 'Sopa de sueños', 'Meñique' and 'El canto de la chicharra'.
