Post - Marbella: Arte por Excelencias returns to Art Unity

Arte por Excelencias was one of the luxury guests at the inauguration of the exhibition "Post-Marbella", at the Granada Art Unity gallery, with works by the artists who participated in the Art Marbella Modern and Contemporary Art Fair 2018, from which our magazine is media partner.

In this way, Nataliya Riesen, its director, and the painter Willy L'Eplattenier, appreciated our coverage during the event, as well as the publication, in our number 42, of the interview with the sculptor Willy LP, entitled "The last cubist of the world".

The return of Arte por Excelencias, four months later, to this "arts space" allowed us to verify the beautiful link that exists there between painting, sculpture, poetry, music and, even, wine. The opening of the show was a long autumnal evening, at the foot of Sierra Nevada, where each guest who took the microphone exceeded the previous one.

The environment could not be better: an 8-meter oil painting by the Spanish Carmelo Trenado, paintings by René Schmid and Willy L'Eplattenier (Switzerland), Petro Smetana, Hanna Kryvolap and Anna Gidora (Ukraine); and sculptures by Dmitry Grek and the brothers Iegor and Mykita Zigura (also creators of that country, who arrive in Granada thanks to the collaboration of Art Unity with Triptych Art, one of the oldest private galleries in Ukraine).

The magazine was very well received among the artists and collectors present, for "its bill, thematic variety and the coverage it gives to fairs and cultural events in America and Europe". The painter Javier Alcantud - who has collaborated with Cuban dancers at the Alicia Alonso University Institute of Dance in Madrid - really liked this issue dedicated to the International Ballet Festival of Havana.

"The Magazine, incredible. That's Culture ", this Grenadian would write to us, who dreams of exhibiting in Cuba and participating in some of the events organized there, such as the Festival of Ibero-American Culture or the Biennial of Havana; Willy LP has also shown interest in taking his cubist paintings and sculptures to Cuban cities, especially Holguin.

The star of the night was the singer and composer from La Rioja Angela Muro, an eternal lover of Cuba and its culture. The author of albums like "Cuentos chinos de La Habana" and "Filin Jazz", wasted talent in each performance and dedicated beautiful words to our magazine, which she already knew.

Even though he no longer smokes (good for her), she posed with a Cohiba gift from this editor ... while she gave us these wonderful verses:

"Come on and tell me a Chinese story from Havana

Let it get tangled in your lips like a mangrove.

Take me there, to that beautiful island in your sea

To dance habaneras of love next to the canefield.

(...)

"When you feel the absence of your beautiful Cuba

And take a memory far away from me

I will be able to cross half the world, without more

That a boat full of kisses on the sea. "

Later, Carmelo Trenado presented her new book-art "Ella", which will soon be in specialized bookstores throughout Spain; and the Russian luthier Pavel Gavyrushov, based in Granada, played "nostalgic" songs of his country, after inviting the concert-presentation of his guitars, on December 7, in an old and unknown chapel of the sixteenth century, in the center of Granada.

Andalusia also glowed that night, in the guitar and the flamenco dancing of the brothers Antonio and Francisco Pérez. In addition, there were moments of pure poetry, with Marcos Jiménez. Everything out of program, and improvised, because in Art Unity, the microphones are always open for those who have something to contribute to art and culture, which is international and polyglot here.

The next stop of Art Unity will be at the IV Art Fair Santa Fe 2018 (Institute of America, December 13-16), which will be followed by the opening of a sample of the Ukrainian ceramist Ihor Kovalevych, of which we have already seen some works very interesting.
