Skira Editore. The Treasures of the Gianmaria Buccellati Foundation

The Treasures of the Gianmaria Buccellati Foundation illustrates a century in the history of goldsmith art through the treasures of the Buccellati Foundation. By following Renaissance canons Mario Buccellati, defined by Gabriele d'Annunzio as the "prince of goldsmiths", created a unique and easily recognizable "Buccellati style", appreciated by members of the ruling houses, popes and intellectuals.

Opened in Venice in 2008, the Gianmaria Buccellati Foundation is a non-profit organization that promotes the study, research and conservation of goldsmithing and engraving techniques from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. In 10 years, it has partnered with some of the most prestigious international museums (Smithsonian Institution, Washington; Kremlin Museums, Moscow; Palazzo Pitti, Florence) providing thousands of people with an introduction to one of the most striking contemporary examples of goldsmith art. The book includes essays by Riccardo Gennaioli, Rodolfo Bargelli, Pier Luigi Sacco, Chiara Tinonin, and Larry French.
