Cartografias de lo (im)posible opened on April 19 at 5:00 p.m. at Wifredo Lam Contemporary Art Center. The exhibition is made up of the following artists: Francis Naranjo(Spain), Juan Castillo (Chile-Sweden), Ingrid Wildi(Chile-Switzerland), Joaquin Sanchez (Paraguay-Bolivia), Rene Francisco Rodriguez and 4ta Pragmatica (Cuba) and Abel Barroso (Cuba); curatorship run by Margarita Sanchez and Juan Ramon Barbancho.
By taking elements from local, regional and trans-local topics, these projects combine the allegoric, the metaphoric and the documental. The artists, through their own realities, shed light on a regional conflict or, simply put, interconnect countries from different continents. Cartografias de lo (im)posible tries to draw a bead on historic processes, economics, geopolitics and imaginary construction of cities and spaces.
