(Re)visitaciones, a gift for Habana Radio station

Celebrating the 17th anniversary of the creation of the Habana Radio station, under the Havana City Historian Office, will be inaugurated the arts exhibit (Re)visitaciones, by painter, engraver, draw and ceramist Diana Balboa, at Casa Carmen Montilla, next January 28, at 5:00 pm.  

 

The exhibit, where converge painting, engraving and installations, shows Diana’s most recent works. She knows deeply the secrets of engraving and moves with subtle skill through the whole chromatic range.

 

The artist, who starts a new phase with this show, turns to maps as support for communication and platform to address different questions of concern in the present Cuban social context.

 

Diana, of self-taught formation, has more than 60 personal exhibits and has participated in more than 200 collective shows in Cuba and abroad. Some of her works are exhibited at prestigious galleries in different countries and are also part of the Chapel of Man Ecuador.

 

Habana Radio station, voice of the Cuban patrimony was born on January 28 of 1999 with a deep Jose Marti’s vocation. The radio station has achieved programs that offer Cuban artists and intellectuals the spaces to interact with the public and to promote the Cuban culture values.

 

At the time of its foundation, on the 146th birth anniversary of Jose Marti, Habana Radio only had three hours transmission and 20 watts power. At present, the radio station broadcasts 24 hours a day and approaches subjects about patrimony, science, environment, architecture and international political events.
