FAENA ART presents a selection of highlights from the Biennale of Moving Images, a co-production with the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève. Under the artistic direction of Andrea Bellini in collaboration with Cecilia Alemani, Caroline Bourgeois and Elvira Dyangani Ose, the Biennale of Moving Images is a one-of-a-kind hybrid event bringing together visual artists, film directors and performers. This marks the 15th edition of the Biennale of Moving Images and the first time that it will be presented in the United States.
This "un-curated” exhibition centers on the artists and their interpretations of the current socio-political moment as a means of addressing the shifting territories of the moving image in the contemporary art. The biennial includes video installations throughout the Faena Bazaar and Faena Park by Sophia Al Maria, Karimah Ashadu, Pauline Boudry & Renate Lorenz, Brian Bress, Salomé Lamas, Wu Tsang and Emily Wardill which will be complemented by an open air screening program in the patio of the Faena Bazaar and in the Faena Hotel screening room featuring Yuri Ancarani, Bertille Bak, Massimo D’Anolfi & Martina Parenti, Alessio Di Zio, Bodil Furu, Jenna Hasse, Emilie Jouvet, Paris Kain, Evangelia Kranioti, Jillian Mayer, Boris Miti?, and Kerry Tribe.
The exhibition will travel to Faena Art Center Buenos Aires where it will be on view from May 22nd through May 30th, 2017.
