Over 150 foreign participants are expected to attend the first Havana Salsa Congress, an event convened by the Paradiso agency and slated for May 24-27 at the Meliá Internacional Hotel in Varadero, Cuba.
The host of the Cuban Golden Club, led by maestro Carlos Sanabia, has invited a lineup of world-class international artists to perform before the dancing public. The list includes Puerto Rican salsa singer Bobby Cruz and deejays Warapo, Alan and Melao, among others.
The invite to shake a leg to the beat of salsa music is Varadero has been confirmed by salsa dancers and academies from several countries, such as Mexico, Spain and Peru. Attendees will sign up for workshops and master classes, concerts and jam sessions led by the DJs, let alone a slew of other professional activities scheduled for Cuba’s blue beach.
