The heat arrives with art

«The summer campaign for the 30th anniversary of Artex has a great significance for us, since we are part of a group of institutions that have the responsibility to share the recreation of young people, students and workers who enjoy the months of July and August. their holidays, and there is always motivation to campaign for the summer better than those of previous years ». So said Eladio Marrero, president of Artex, at the press conference held at the Centro Cultural Miramar -presided also by Alina Torres, and Marianela Dufflar, manager and director of Communication respectively- to present the campaign "A summer with art", in greeting the 500th anniversary of Havana and the 30th of the institution itself, the main promoter and marketer of cultural products and services.

This year, besides celebrating, as usual, the dates of July 26 - National Rebellion Day -, August 13 - Birth of the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro - and August 23 - Anniversary of the Federation of Cuban Women -, "A summer with art", has an additional motivation: that Artex has received the Institutional Communication Space Award.

Three key moments will be the great opening party of Summer 2019, with dance activities and live artistic presentations, accompanied by gastronomic offers at Artex branches in the country; the realization of fairs, presentations, sales of books and records and artistic concerts in all the provinces; and the closing of the summer with children's activities and great concerts.

Art in La Rampa, in its twentieth edition, will return again, between July 7 and the 1st. September, as the main offer for habaneros and the thousands of Cuban and foreign visitors who visit this central area of ​​the capital every day, with exposales of cultural companies, live presentations of music and dance projects, exhibitions of plastic arts, audiovisual exhibition and exchange with creators of different artistic manifestations.

The agencies Clave Cubana and Paradiso already offer, until July 7, the Summer Festival in Varadero, with the participation of the groups Elito Revé y su Charangón, Adalberto Álvarez y su Son, JG and his group, Leoni Torres, Buena Fe , Casabe, Hard Currency, Jacob Forever, El Micha y El Chacal.

The dancers will also have a luxury offer with the organization of the First Timba Festival, from 1st to 4th August, in greeting to the half-century of Los Van Van orchestra, based in the Salon Rosado de La Tropical, El Sauce and a great concert at the corner of 23 and Malecón. The event will include master classes, workshops, conferences and photo exhibitions.

Another highlight in musical matters will be "The Night of the Caballero del Son", initiative of Maestro Adalberto Álvarez, National Music Prize, which will be based in the Salón Rosado de La Tropical and will aim to promote dance in pairs and enjoyment of popular dance music, every Friday at nine o'clock in the evening from the second half of July.

As if that were not enough, during the two summer months will tour throughout the national territory known performers and groups such as como Paulo FG, Mayco D’Alma, Haila María Mompié, Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco, Cristian y Rey, and David Blanco and his group.
