Works by Oswaldo Guayasamin to be exhibited in South Korea

A special exhibition of works by Ecuadorian painter Oswaldo Guayasamin (1919-1999) will be opened at the Savina Museum of Contemporary Art, located in a cultural corridor in Seoul, the exhibition website posted.

About 89 works in oil and watercolor paintings and drawings of the highest quality will be exhibited until January 22. Those works belonged to the Guayasamin Foundation, declared World Cultural Heritage in Ecuador, the website stated.

The text of the Savina Museum of Contemporary Art recognizes that Guayasamin is one of the greatest artists born in Latin America, which the visiting public could corroborate when exploring videos of interviews and personal archives of the artist in the exhibition room.

Verenice Guayasamin, daughter of the outstanding South American artist, stressed that the Savina exhibition is the second of its kind that takes place on the Asian continent after the death of her father, and those exhibited five years ago in China.
