Solo Show: Ernesto Neto

On behalf of Marcio Botner, Liza Essers, Shireen Ghandy, Daudi Karungi, José Kuri, Mary Sabbatino and Nina Takegawa we are delighted to introduce the SOUTH SOUTH platform and invite you to the launch and inaugural edition of SOUTH SOUTH VEZA on 23 February - 7 March.

SOUTH SOUTH is a gallery-led online community, anthology, live resource and aggregator dedicated to art from the Global South and its diaspora. This year-round platform hosts an Archive of seminal exhibitions and key curatorial texts alongside a Featured section highlighting events, talks and performances from the Global South as well as original interview-based editorial.

The first activation is SOUTH SOUTH VEZA, an online event co-conceived by galleries to promote and support art from the Global South. This new, year-round destination boasts a tight edit of leading programmes from across five continents. From Guatemala City to Cairo, Lagos to Los Angeles, Bogotá to Seoul, over 50 galleries will present major works spanning emerging, contemporary, and twentieth century masters.

VEZA will launch with a unique Iive VERNISSAGE SELLING EVENT event on 23 FEBRUARY at 13h00 GMT which will raise much needed funds for our 3 not-for-profit partners: Casa do Povo (Brazil), Green Papaya Projects (Philippines) and Raw Material Company (Senegal)

Curated ONLINE VIEWING ROOMS will launch on the 24th February where over 50 curated presentations will offer an expansive view of art production in the global south and galleries who have dedicated their focus on bringing attention to artists from the periphery and the diaspora.

We look forward to welcoming you to this exciting and innovative new space as we grow in 2021.
