Art Marbella and Marbella Design: new dates and special events

Art Marbella and Marbella Design will take place simultaneously from November 4th to November 14th, 2021 in our usual place, el Palacio de Congresos de Marbella.

Once again, both events will be held at the same time in order to show the best of national and international contemporary art alongside the vanguard of design and interior architecture.

This will be the 7th edition of Art Marbella and the 4th edition of Marbella Design.

In Marbella Design, we see the return of Sergio Sánchez and David Jiménez, who coordinated the 2019 edition. Additionally, the talented Alfonso Castellón comes back as the Creative Director in charge of the layout and design of both events. Manuel Díaz Cebrián returns for his 4th consecutive year as the International Director of Special Projects.

Art Marbella will present two new spaces. The first encompasses artists with a focus on the intersectionality of art and design, while the second is called "Art on Paper". We are also excited to announce Art Marbella "Circuits", an initiative that will drive forward a connection between installations and sculptures in public spaces.

Alejandro Zaia, the General Director of both fairs, says "Given the success of last year's events, we have chosen to realize both events together again. The public was able to enjoy and experience the coexistence of art and design, and this year we want to collaborate the two even further". With regards to the dates "We prefer to act cautiously and reserve dates further along the year to ensure safety and certainty. We are sure that the end of the year will show us a safer and more controlled situation of the pandemic".

We are also happy to announce that Ianko López will organize the special academic talks with keynote speakers. There will be a collaboration with the Design Institute of Spain, whose director, Juan Mellen, will be at the forefront of these special events.

Likewise, both events will host Inside Art and Design, a new digital experience that combines art and design and that will include a very international public. It will last all year and will present a new way of interacting with a virtual platform and a wide audience.

For the 5th consecutive year, Marbella Club and Anantara Villa Padierna will be the official hospitality partners of Art Marbella and Marbella Design.
