Brognon Rollin. The Penultimate Version Of Reality

Over the last 15 years, David Brognon and Stéphanie Rollin have developed a multifaceted body of work, guided by conceptual and ethical principles.

Titled after Jorge Luis Borges' 1928 essay, The penultimate version of reality, this exhibition traces the main stages of the duo's career through a selection of around 40 works, including several site-specific productions such as the 27-metre-long neon lifeline Yamina.

With greyish, inconclusive hues enveloping the walls and floor, the exhibition is imagined as an overall installation, inviting visitors to perceive it as a whole. Underlining the uniqueness of their world and consistent approach, it addresses recurring, fundamental questions like: "Does reality exist outside of its representations? How can we shape the experience of time passing? How are all things destined to disappear?
