Zipper Galeria is pleased to announce the representation of artist Willian Santos and the exhibition, "Compound Waters”.
His research engages with painting as a central language, while also expanding through experiments that integrate natural materials and mixed techniques. Willian Santos’s painting carries a vigorous and experimental character, incorporating methods such as encaustic – a blend of beeswax and pigments.
For the exhibition, the curators have selected a set of new works that deepen his investigation into enigmatic figuration and visual paradoxes. Among the themes explored are alchemy, mythology, art history, and environmental issues.
Willian Santos cultivates a lasting relationship with materials, using remnants from previous works in a process he describes as “reverse logistics” – fragments imbued with symbolic and material memories.
Born in Curitiba and currently based in Florianópolis, Willian Santos began exhibiting his work in 2007 and has steadily built his presence through solo and group exhibitions.
