The Kingdom In The Middle
May
Friday 9th
5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Alejandro Ospina, a Colombian artist based in London, merges classical painting traditions with contemporary digital culture in a practice shaped by his upbringing in Colombia and the U.S., and later exposure to global art influences in the UK. This latest exhibition, reflects on how the internet has transformed our relationship with imagery. By layering visual references and incorporating the spontaneous drawings of his young sons, Ospina creates works that explore the tension between unfiltered imagination and the structured aesthetics of art history. Drawing inspiration from artists like Picasso, Gorky, and Miró, he captures the chaos, immediacy, and wonder of image consumption in the digital age. The result is a deeply personal meditation on memory, creativity, and the fleeting nature of childhood, offering a compelling dialogue between innocence and experience.

Óscar Valero y Mercedes Lara
May
Saturday, 10th
11 am - 5 pm
In Entrelíneas, Mercedes Lara and Óscar Valero Sáez each approach the theme of transformation through distinct yet complementary lenses. Lara explores the changes brought by time, using art as a mirror of lived experience. Her work delves into spatial, temporal, and emotional borderlands, focusing on what occurs in the margins—between states of being, between day and night, between emotions—where rhythm emerges as a poetic thread that weaves together human experience. Meanwhile, Valero Sáez, a visual artist and architect, investigates the intersections between art, music, and architecture. As an adjunct professor at IE School of Architecture and Design and a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cuenca, his research—titled La línea bien temperada—centers on the purification of form and the search for essence within musical and spatial structures. Together, their practices reflect a deep engagement with transitions, rhythms, and the essence of form and experience.
