Bombon CRISIS opens its second exhibition with works by Daniel Jacoby and Marie Zolamian

On September 11 at 5 p.m., Bombon – CRISIS (Calle de la Madera 33, Madrid) will open its second exhibition as part of the Apertura 2025 program. The show features a dialogue between the works of Daniel Jacoby and Marie Zolamian, with an exhibition text by curator Gema Melgar.

Bombon CRISIS is a collaborative space launched in May 2025 by Bombon Projects (Barcelona) and CRISIS (Lima). Located in the Malasaña district, it is designed as a platform for crossovers between artists, exhibitions, and unexpected connections.

The exhibition brings together two distinctive but complementary artistic approaches.
Daniel Jacoby (Lima, 1985) works across film, sculpture, installation, and performance. Through a personal and indirect lens, he creates distorted realities that reinterpret everyday life and reflect on themes such as belonging, solitude, friendship, desire, and spirituality. His work has been shown at institutions including EYE Filmmuseum (Amsterdam), Fundació Joan Miró (Barcelona), Palais de Tokyo (Paris), Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof (Hamburg), and more. It is also part of public collections such as CA2M (Madrid), CNAP (Paris), and Frac Île-de-France/Le Plateau.

Marie Zolamian (Beirut, 1975), based in Liège (Belgium), draws from both Eastern and Western artistic traditions—including Persian and Armenian miniatures, Flemish Primitives, and references to Rousseau and Cézanne. Her paintings create symbolic landscapes that explore identity, collective memory, and the interplay between tradition, nature, and community. Recent exhibitions include SA MUE (Bombon Projects, Barcelona), Bienvenue (Mu.ZEE, Ostend), and the Dakar Biennale. A permanent installation of hers can be found at KMSKA in Antwerp: a 76 m² mosaic composed of 600,000 stones—the largest of its kind in Belgium.

With this new exhibition, Bombon CRISIS continues to position itself as a key venue for contemporary art and a bridge between Latin America and Europe.
