VIGILGONZALES Gallery took part in the 2025 edition of Pinta BAphoto, held from October 16 to 19 at La Rural, Pavilion 8, in Buenos Aires. The event, one of Latin America’s leading photography fairs, brought together galleries, curators, artists, and collectors from across the region.
For this edition, VIGILGONZALES presented works by Peruvian artist Natalia Iguiñiz Boggio (b. 1973, Lima) in the RADAR section, curated by Guad Creche, sharing Booth P37 with Galería Del Infinito.
About the artist
Iguiñiz is a visual artist and university professor whose practice explores gender, sexuality, domestic work, and motherhood. She studied Painting at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) and holds a master’s degree in Gender, Sexuality and Public Policy from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM). Her work bridges visual arts, public space interventions, and feminist activism.
She has held 12 solo exhibitions and participated in over 200 collective shows and biennials in Peru and abroad, including the 2020 Mercosur Biennial, curated by Andrea Giunta. Her works are part of major collections such as MOLAA (USA), MALI (Peru), and the Museo Reina Sofía (Spain).
At Pinta BAphoto 2025, Iguiñiz presented pieces from the series Mi mundo plop and Permítanme un poquito de tristeza, which critically address symbolic constructions of femininity and emotional expression. Through her artistic research, she questions cultural narratives surrounding gender and the female body.
Pinta BAphoto 2025 once again positioned Buenos Aires as a regional hub for contemporary photography, showcasing the diversity and vitality of Latin American visual arts.
