Amparo Sard and Jaume Plensa at N2 Galeria

Jaume Plensa and Amparo Sard’s joint exhibition was inaugurated at N2 Galeria, Barcelona, on March 1, and it is the result of a reflection on the internationalization of Spanish art, which presently succeeds in spaces all over the world from a commercial and conceptual outlook.

The case of Amparo Sard turns out to be paradigmatic in this sense, since her artworks have recently joined important collections such as those showcased at the MoMA, the Guggenheim or the Deutsche Bank. N2 Galeria displays in this exhibition the artist’s brand-new video –Salvavidas – and her small format sculptures.

As for Jaume Plensa, the work included in this exhibition is the result of her collaboration with Ignacio de Lassaletta, and makes up the fund saved by Ignacio as a witness of the first steps of this artist, who is already acclaimed as one of the finest representatives of Spanish art. Also in exhibition, first time in a gallery, the original suits that were handmade by Jaume Plensa for El Martirio de San Sebastian, premiered at Rome’s Opera Theater back in 1997.

The exhibition is going to the opened to viewers through April 13.
