Art critic and curator Julia P. Herzberg was recently given the received 2012-2013 Fulbright academic scholarship.
From her scholar status, Herzberg will be given a course on Latin American contemporary art in the US, from March to May 2012, at Santiago de Chile’s Diego Portales University. She will also work on a curatorial project at this country’s Museum of the Memory and Human Rights.
During her career, the author has published comments and done research into such events as Kassel Documenta and Havana Biennial (she was a consulting curator for its eighth, ninth and tenth editions); as well as the poetic work of Ivan Navarro, Yoan Capote, Leandro Katz, Ruben Torres Llorca, Dias & Riedweg, Lotty Rosenfeld, Leopoldo Maler, Liliana Porter and Maria Elena Gonzalez, among others. Since 1990, she has organized over twenty-five exhibitions with creators from every corner of Earth, which proves the scope of her studies.
