RO Art Gallery Showcases Miguel Angel Giovanetti’s Pentagon Project

The exhibit, to open on Thursday July 31 at 19 hours, puts together a series of recent works in which Giovanetti continues the research he has been carrying out - along with Luis Espinosa – on the pentagon, its development in space and expressive possibilities. The research started back in 2011 with Parallel Universes, a display where both artists worked with the dodecahedron on a surface. This time around, Giovanetti presents a group of drawing and paintings in which he explores the characteristics of pentagons by reducing the visual language to the minimum elements and dealing with the geometric figure by means of multiplication, repetition and superimposition. Miguel Angel Giovanetti (Buenos Aires, 1948) has lived and worked in Buenos Aires since 2009, when returned from the United States. Among with latest shows we can mention “Pentagon Concept” at Emilio Caraffa Museum (Córdoba, Argentina), “Parallel views” at Mulvane Art Museum (Kansas, USA), “Fragmenting Universe” at Recoleta Cultural Center (Buenos Aires, Argentina). His works is exhibited as part of the following collections: MoMA Museum of Modern Art (New York, USA), The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum (Miami, USA), MoLAA Museum of Latin American Art (Long Beach, USA), Mulvane Art Museum (Kansas, USA) Stockhausen Museum (Stockhausen, Germany), Ludwin Museum (Aachen, Germany), Kunsthalle (Düsseldorf, Germany), Goethe Institut (Colonia, Germany), Emilio Caraffa Museum (Córdoba, Argentina), Timoteo Navarro Museum (San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina).
