This Monday began the 42nd edition of the International Book Fair from Montevideo that until Sunday October 13 captures the attention of Letter lovers. On this occasion, the guest of honor country is Cuba and is organized by the Uruguayan Chamber of Books and the IM.
As part of the intense and attractive program of activities is the presentation of the magazine Arte por Excelencias by the outstanding writer, essayist, cultural promoter, curator and critic of art Virginia Alberdi, on Wednesday, October 9 at 5 p.m. in the space The Author and his Work.
The headquarters of the Municipality of Montevideo (Av. July 18, 1360) will host also several activities that will have writers, filmmakers, artists or Cuban government authorities as protagonists, as reported local press media.
Participating publishers will make releases and presentations of books, in addition to meetings with authors.
Among the activities of the Caribbean delegation, the celebration-talk for the 60 years of the House of the Americas and the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Cuba and the host country. Also, the photographic exhibition stands out for the 500 years of Havana, which will be accompanied by a panel «Havana 500 years, Real and Wonderful City".
