Adriana Minoliti and Laura Eldret: new winners of the Gasworks and Urra residencies

Within the alliance between the arteBA Foundation and the Gasworks and URRA residencies, the second invitation was announced in May, during the 25th edition of arteBA, for Argentine and UK-resident artists to take part in an art residency in London and Buenos Aires, respectively.

The jury, made up of Kiki Mazzucchelli (freelance curator living in London and São Paulo), Alejandra Aguado (freelance curator and co-director of Móvil, a resident of Buenos Aires) and directors of Gasworks and URRA, was responsible for evaluating the projects presented and choosing the two artists for this second edition who can now travel and stay for three-month residencies thanks to the generous backing of Erica Roberts.

Adriana Minoliti is the Argentine artist who will travel in January 2017 for 11 weeks at Gasworks, London.

Laura Eldret is the British artist who will travel to URRA in Tigre to take part in the art residency in Buenos Aires from October to December of this year.

Both residencies provide the artists with a studio alongside other artists in residence, as well as room and board, basic per diem expenses, round-trip travel and curatorial and administrative support.

In the first edition of this alliance, the winners of the residency program were Nicolás Gullotta and Christian Newby.
