Pinta PArC 2023. Celebrating a decade of diffusion of Latin American contemporary art in Peru

The tenth edition of Pinta PArC, held at Casa Prado from April 19 to 23, 2023, came to an end. During those days, the fair became an epicenter of the region's artistic identities, with the participation of 45 galleries, more than 200 artists and cultural institutions, and 12,000 visitors.

Pinta PArC continues with the objective of disseminating the richness of the region's artistic ecosystem through the Main Section, Solo Dúo Projects (curated by Florencia Battiti), NEXT (curated by Florencia Portocarrero), Amazonía (curated by Gredna Landolt Pardo), and two new sections developed especially for the fair's tenth anniversary: Sculpture Garden (curated by Max Hernandez Calvo) and Video Project (curated by Pinta Art general curator Irene Gelfman).

In addition, Pinta PArC featured the FORUM section coordinated by Miguel A. López, a series of talks held in the fair's auditorium, with the aim of bringing together curators, artists, collectors, gallery owners and professionals linked to the field of contemporary art, to expand the viewpoint on artistic production, the art market, the role of collecting and new technologies.

It included an interesting program with the participation of prominent contemporary art specialists such as Cuauhtémoc Medina, Gerardo Mosquera, Carla Acevedo-Yates, among others. FORUM was made possible thanks to the support of PUCP, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, official sponsor of the auditorium.

The fair also presented virtual content with four new profiles for Open Files, a series of videos focused on artists and details of their works: Gonzalo Fuenmayor, Chonón Bensho, Federico Ovalles and Roberto Huarcaya.

As a special activation, the Lima artist Mateo Cabrera, intervened the Audi e-tron model –official sponsor of the fair–, in a sustainability and art project entitled "Oracle".

During the days of the fair, different guided tours were given by the curators with a large attendance. Also, in front of the Sculpture Garden, Book Vivant developed a program of talks and meetings with the aim of uniting the culinary and publishing world with contemporary art.

For the first time, Mónimo created a children's area with the intervention of artist Casandra Tola. It was an open and collaborative space where children (and adults) could participate in the construction of a mural story. This action was possible thanks to Artesco and Mónimo.

Once again, Pinta PArC presented the NEXT award thanks to the support of Paraíso. In this edition, Remota Gallery (Salta, Argentina) was selected by the prestigious jury formed by Alberto Servat, Cultural Manager of the Peruvian-North American Cultural Institute, Carla Acevedo-Yates, curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, and the artist Ximena Garrido Lecca.

As in every edition, the fair had a VIP program specially designed for international collectors. In addition, this year, Atemporal Deco & Home was in charge of the design for the VIP room at the fair with exclusive designer furniture which coexisted with the curatorial proposal.

This new edition of Pinta PArC was made possible thanks to the support of EFG Wealth Management, main sponsor; the sponsorship of: Audi, CC17, Hilton Hotel, Aloft Hotel and Atemporal Deco & Home. And thanks to the unconditional support of Bottega Dasso, Simon, Book Vivant, Paraiso Hotel B and the participating institutions: AMANO, ICPNA, Museo Mali, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Lima (MAC), Corriente Alterna and Markham College.
