Gallery Walk: Just another ARCO Proposal

From Sept. 29-30 thru Oct. 1, within the framework of DecorAcción, ARCOmadrid will implement a new initiative to encourage visits to art galleries in the Spanish capital.

It’s all about a series of guided visits to the Barrio de las Letras that will allow visitors –at no extra charge- to take a closer look at exhibitions and programs art galleries are starting this season with. Sara Garcia Fernandez and Lola Iglesia Lago are the two young professionals designated by ARCOmadrid to guide the tours for groups of 10 people tops.

This activity, organized by the ARCO Friends Associations, reflects the fair’s interest in helping boost the efforts of art galleries by fostering the contemporary arts and turning Madrid in a one-and-only cultural destination.

In its second edition, DecorAcción, an event planned by the Barrio de las Letras Association and the Nuevo Estilo magazine, brings together art galleries, antique collectors, interior decorators and restaurants.

Visits will be scheduled for 5:00, 6:00 and 7:00 pm, plus an addition noon visit on Oct. 1. Would-be visitors to the ARCO GALLERY Walk can request their application form on arcogallerywalk@gmail.com.

Art galleries selected for these tours are Benveniste Contemporary, showing Civic Citationsby Rita McBride thru Nov. 12; Espacio Mínimo, showing thru Bov. 8 a collective exhibit commissioned by Richard Heller Gallery; Formato Cómodo, with Log Out Landscapeby Enrique Radigales; Helga de Alvear, featuring a recent project by Axel Hütte entitled Rheingau; La Fábrica Galería, with Sanctuary by Gregory Crewdson thru Oct. 8; Maisterravalbuena, currently showing Perilby Maria Loboda; and Raquel Ponce, with an installation called Block House by Avelino Sala.
