Sixeart at N2 Gallery

Cosmovision Andina y los hijos del Inti, by Sixeart (Sergio Hidalgo Paredes) is to be inaugurated on November 17 at N2 Gallery, Barcelona.

This exhibition turns out to be an approach to Andean ancestral cultures, with plenty of color, wisdom and mysticism. Sixeart is distinguished by a singular and unprejudiced style when creating paintings, murals, installations or sculptures. The main stimulating elements for his creations are his experiences on urban landscapes, the melancholy of a city, his reflections on the evolution and its consequences. Barcelona and its contemporary social and popular culture, as well as the approach to ancestral cultures and cosmovisions, are practically present all over his work.

He has been related to Miro and Antoni Tapies because of the surrealist and “childish” mode to express himself, an extremely attractive strategy for art collectors from all over the world. He started his artistic career as graffiti artist back in the 1980s and improved his work with colors until he reached his current colorful universe, counting on forms and symbologies that smell of simplicity and complexity at the same time. During the mid 1990s, he began experimenting with sculpture and painting expressions.

The exhibition is to be opened through January 9, 2012.
