The European edition of the PINTA Latin American Art Fair came to an end recently in the British capital, and many agree the outcomes were quite close to what many people expected from a commercial standpoint.
We always wonder who could be behind this complex mechanism, who the sponsors of these kinds of events really are, and who the partners of the fair’s Organizing Committee –that works like a company- actually are.
PINTA London 2012 counted on the support of ACALASP (Asociación de Asuntos Culturales de Latinoamérica, España y Portugal); Aculco Radio, a London radio station that hits the airwaves with bilingual broadcasts; the Anglo Spanish Society, founded in 1958 as a beneficial organization aimed at fostering friendship and understanding between the peoples of Great Britain and Spain –supported in a scholarship program- and ARTantide.com, Italy’s first-ever online art gallery that stands up for both art and investment in new information services.
A considerable chunk of this fair’s success has to do with the actions conducted by companies that put their smart money on events like this one. Let’s wait then for PINTA’s next edition that will surely bring far more surprises.
