Art Video, an initiative that exclusively targets audiovisuals in Art Basel Miami Beach fair, proposes a second edition with tons of surprises for those who love this genre. Two spaces are going to be “invaded” by images in motion: the inner space of the Miami Beach Convention Center and the outdoor area of the SoundScape Park.
The materials were selected among the proposals presented by participating galleries, and they will be sixty all in all, movie and video, with eight outdoor programs from Wednesday December 5 to Saturday December 8. Among the artists represented in the section, which includes emerging and acclaimed professionals, we can mention Julieta Aranda, Guy Ben-Ner, Daniel Arsham, William Kentridge, Theaster Gates, Jesper Just, Mauricio Lupini, Rashaad Newsome, Ryan McGinley, Robin Rhode, Sam Samore, Adam Shecter and Hu Xiangqian.
The programs were organized around specific topics: Love, Time & Decorum, Music, Magic & Melancholia, Universal, Dreams & Anthems, Waltzing, Driving & Reflections, Shadows, Circles & Fire, Laughing, Wondering & Meditatingand Spirit, Breath & Air.
As for the outdoor series, curator David Gryn has selected eighteen materials, as well as eleven videos, to be screened in a continuous cycle within the five presentation capsules at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
