Sponsored by the Center for Cuban Studies (New York), Patria e Identidad en el Arte Cubano, a collective exhibition by creators from different generations, was recently inaugurated at a centric gallery in Manhattan.
Raul Martinez, Alicia Leal, Kcho, Jose Rodriguez Fuster and Lester Campa, with oil paintings, installations and small format sculptures, provide a vision of the Cuban, from different perspectives and discursive strategies.
During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the director of the Cuban Studies Center, Sandra Levinson, underlined the importance of art as a way to have the people come closer, one of the founding objectives of that institution, created over forty years ago.
Patria e identidad will remain open to the public through April 6.
