Radiaciones de Fondo: Artists Experiment with Visual-ness and Sound at Gabriela Mistral Gallery

“Radiaciones de fondo” (In-Depth Radiations) is an experimental event that gathers over 20 prestigious artists within a scene that merges sound and visual-ness.

 

Authors such as Eduardo Astudillo, Diego Lorenzini, Ivo Vidal, Jorge Cabieses-Valdes, Eden Carrasco, Mario Navarro and Rainer Krause; or such projects as El Banco Mundial, Elpueblodechina and Montaña Extendida, among others, are scheduled to be showcased on May 15 - 17 at Gabriela Mistral Gallery.

 

“Radiaciones de fondo” is a series of concerts, performances and sonorous, visual and object interventions, to be carried out by 24 Chilean artists and musicians working through a merge of means and disciplines, by experimentation. Curated by Rodrigo Araya, the event deals with the state of a scene, as well as the idea of vibration from concepts of interference and harmony.

 

It puts together visual interventions and collaborations in constant dialogue with the development of concerts. Guests artists: Francisca Garcia, Claudia Gonzalez, Cristobal Lehyt, Rodrigo Lobos, Nicolas Rupcich, Mario Navarro, Rainer Krause, Cristian Silva, Rodrigo Vergara and Claudio Correa.

 

The criteria to choose the artists didn’t follow a lineal logic; but targets the state of a practice in our context. In this case, different ways to take sound as material and its expansions to the visual-ness.
