ARCOmadrid Summons the First ARCObloggers Ideas Contest

Contemporary art bloggers and creators on the Internet will once again hold their annual gathering at ARCObloggers 2014, so ARCOmadrid is summoning the first edition of the ARCObloggers Ideas Contest in a bid to come up with new designs, collaborators and blog coordinators.

Content quality, internationalization and creation will convene in a meeting of social network experts within the framework of the Fair’s 33rd edition. These are basic requirements demanded by ARCOmadrid for this upcoming edition in an effort to buttress ARCObloggers as a place for both virtual and in-the-flesh discussions among these professionals.

The open-ended ideas contest consists of two parts. On the one hand, the design and coordination of www.arcobloggers.com that will remain open from Oct. 2013 thru Feb. 2014, making major contributions to the fostering of the visual arts at the Fair by the hand of bloggers. On the other hand, the event’s organization has come up with a huddle of bloggers slated for Feb. 21, 22 and 23 –the same days the fair will be open for the general public.

The deadline for the projects is set for June 21, 2013, and from that date on the jury will convene, made up of Roberta Bosco and Stefano Caldana (ARCObloggers 2013 coordinators), Raul Diez (IFEMA marketing and communications coordinator) and Carlos Urroz (ARCOmadrid director), who will eventually handpick the winners.

For this edition, ARCOmadrid will enhance its web outreach with new platforms, such as ARCObloggers, designed and coordinated by Roberta Bosco and Stefano Caldana. The ripple effects were noticeable and their contribution as a space for discussion and analysis on the World Wide Web, as well as at the Fair with a forum for both exhibitors and aficionados to share their ideas.

For roughly three months, ARCObloggers logged 163 entries from approximately 3,000 people during the course of ARCOmadrid and a grand total of 70,000 surfers. The contents posted during the event prompted debates about the bidirectional art sector, featuring contribution from readers that remained on the rise till surpassing the 100-plus hits.
