Cuba’s National Ballet, directed by Alicia Alonso, will perform two galas dedicated to the 120th birth anniversary of the famous Cuban composer and pianist Ernesto Lecuona next August 1 and 2 at Teatro Marti.
The program includes works that uses pieces of maestro Lecuona as the musical background, as well as from other composers, like Tarde en la siesta, by Alberto Mendez; Cuba dentro de un piano, by Eduardo Blanco, and three choreographies by Alicia Alonso: A la luz de tus canciones, La commedia è…danzata and Impromptu Lecuona.
The performance on Saturday will be at 8.30pm and on Sunday at 5pm.
