Monte-Carlo Ballet to Make its Debut in Cuba with Cinderella

Havana.-The Monte-Carlo Ballet will make its debut in Cuba this weekend, with a simple and symbolic version of the story Cinderella, the company's director, Jean-Christophe Maillot, asserted. Being in Cuba is a dream come true, said Maillot in a press conference that was part of the 16th Theater Festival of Havana, the beginning of which was scheduled for next Saturday.

He mentioned, as one of the particularities of the production, the fact that an unusual prince finds true love in a barefoot Cinderella.

Spanish dancer Anjara Ballesteros, who will play the main role of the story, mentioned ther particularity of the company, which works with the personality of each actor to guarantee the authenticity of every show.

Also Spanish Alvaro Prieto will play the role of Cinderella's father in a bellet with music by Russian Serguei Prokofiev, in which the difference of levels among dancers is not very noticeable, because every performance, solo or in corps de ballet, demands high-quality dancers.
