Havana.- Creator of a very contemporary style that makes her one of the young most prominent Cuban plastic artists of her generation, Rachel Valdés exhibits here today a new collection that invites the viewer to a different world. "En el espacio" is the name of this exhibition, at the Center for Development of Visual Arts, which belongs to the new painting series in which the artist seeks to create environments, stages, something like a cosmos, explained exclusively to Prensa Latina.
The exhibition, curated by Nelson Herrera, will open to the public until the first half of April and then she hopes to take it to the United States.
In addition to her role as a creator, Valdés is very popular these days as the female face accompanying Puerto Rican Marc Anthony and Cuban band Gente de Zona in the video clip of the song "Traidora".
About this experience, she told Prensa Latina that it was very interesting and the idea came from director Alejandro Perez, who called her for the video.
It has been very exciting, a completely different experience of the visual arts but very enriching, she concluded.
