Successful Tour of Canada by the Cuban National Ballet

Havana.- The prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso described as very successful the presentations of the classic ballet Don Quixote performed by the Cuban National Ballet (BNC) in Montreal, Canada. Alonso said during a press conference that all performances sold out.

Viengsay Valdes, Anette Delgado, Gretel Morejon and Dani Hernandez, along with young talents of the group, performed for the Canadian public a version of Don Quixote created by Alonso in the 80s.

A colorful performance, along with the strength of the leading figures, rocked the audience that thanked with applause and shouts the presence of the prima ballerina assoluta on stage.

Located in the Place des Arts in Montreal, the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier is a performance hall closely linked to the Cuban culture, since in 1967 hosted a presentation of Giselle starred by Alicia Alonso.

After the Montreal performances on May, the company will present on June two performances of Giselle at the Teatro de Bellas Artes in Puerto Rico.
