Bob Dylan recognized with Nobel Prize for Literature 2016

Stockholm.- The Swedish Academy today awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature 2016 to the American musician Bob Dylan for creating a new poetic expression in the great American tradition of the song.

This was the argument used to justify the granting of laurel for the first time a musician, and the news immediately triggered cries of hurray in the hall of the Stockholm Stock Exchange since the singer and poet 75 years old remains one of the most prolific and influential figures in art.

The Robert Allen Zimmerman links with literature are evident, not only devoured every book he could get his hands but the world knew him by the name inspired by the poet Dylan Thomas.

The musician himself is regarded as a poet of law and many recognize it as the voice of a generation for his compositions of the 1960s who transmitted the spirit of rebellion of the moment.

According to the permanent secretary of the Nobel Academy, Sara Danius, there was great unity in the decision to grant the award to Dylan, who has the status of an icon.

He is probably the greatest living poet, said the Swedish Academy member Per Wastberg.

The institution also praised the profound influence of the artist in contemporary music.

The Nobel Prize for Literature awarded to the winner eight million kronor, equivalent to $ 930,000, and is one of the most prestigious awards in the world.
