Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum. Rafael Soriano: The Artist as Mystic

Rafael Soriano: The Artist as Mystic features nearly 100 paintings, drawings, and pastels by the acclaimed master of geometric abstraction. The exhibition traces Soriano’s career, from early abstractions painted in Havana to his translucent late style created during his Miami exile. The exhibition’s curator Elizabeth Thompson Goizueta, a faculty member in Boston College’s Department of Romance Languages & Literature, will give a tour of the exhibition during the Members’ Preview.

Continental Abstraction: Highlights from the Art Museum of the Americas in Washington, DC illustrates the rich visual history of lyrical and geometric abstraction as it evolved into a range of expressive and divergent practices across the Americas. A tour during the Members’ Preview will be offered by AMA Curator, Adriana Ospina, and exhibition curators, Marisa Caichiolo and Laura Ayala.
