Villa Manuela Art Gallery. Rubén Alpízar

On Friday June 23 at 6:00 pm will be inaugurating The Simulacrum Room, a solo show by the artist Rubén Alpízar, at the Villa Manuela Art Gallery.

Rubén Alpízar (Santiago de Cuba, 1965) has developed a style of work that has allowed him to mature ideoesthetic conceptions, perfectly recognizable, based on multiple references from art produced in the Middle Ages to the most representative of the Postmodern era. This creator bears the particular ability to synthesize these signs and symbols of the previous creation to trace current political, economic, social and artistic discourses in small bonds.

The Simulacrum Roomproposes another approach to his work, to the extent that space is understood as another niche containing all the histories that inhabit its microworlds;in addition to stringing all their themes through their experiences, so that everything is seen as a consequent construction of the self and its circumstances. The exhibition is made up of paintings and sculptures of medium and large format.

It will be open until Friday, July 28 of this year.
