“Summer Lippy Upcycling” Summer time, time for flip-flops, time for ice creams, elements consigned to oblivion along with so many other objects that we discard. Jana Alvarez recovers them and turns them into sirens, sea, insolent women, and female warriors. Her work revolves around the female figure as a metaphorical archetype of the creative force and the individual universal identity. She ponders the human being as devastating, ethically indifferent and dual element. All wrapped up and disguised as a pop and colorful aesthetic based on the recycling of elements, both natural and organic but also artificial and technologic.
