The 4th edition of OjodePez Photo Meeting Barcelona, the grand international meeting on documental photography is about to take place. La Virreina Centre de la Imatge is set to become, for three days, stage of an intense program of portfolio viewings, round tables, photographer displays, talks and lectures opened to the public.
This year’s edition is dedicated to nonconformity photography. Starting with “Martin Parr. The nonconformists”, the meeting is going to be attended by a group of authors that tackle documental photography from individual-centered approach, personal views in ironic occasions. The round tables, moderated by Arianna Rinaldo, will be made up of Tim Clark (1000 words), Erik Vroons (Gup), Mauro Bedoni (COLORS), Jim Casper (Lensculture) or Marloes Krijnen (Foam), who will debate on publication ways, magazines and new platforms to spread photography. In the face-to-face meetings Stanislas Guigui, Raphaël Dallaporta, Bertien van Manen and Oscar Monzón are going to talk to Carine Dolek (Circulations), Christophe Laloi (Voies Off), Emily Adams (PHotoEspaña) and Iñaki Domingo (RM Ediciones). Joan Fontcuberta is slated to give a lecture entitled “Dissatisfied Copy” and Martin Parr will be giving a first-hand explanation on his exhibit, to be viewed in La Virreina Centre de la Imatge through July 27. Furthermore, the attendees will have the opportunity to participate in portfolio viewings and “Acción” practical workshop, given by Luis Baylón.
