The boom of landscape. Dutch and Flemish engravers of the 17 century

The Carlos de Amberes Madrid Museum. Maestros flamencos y holandeses presents its second temporal exhibition related to the graphic work. Engravings of different artists (Sadeler, van Uden, van Ruysdael) from the Deltoro-Vives collection plus other two by Rembrandt, given by the National Library in Spain will be exhibited until September.

 

Through 38 beautiful works, the exhibition shows the boom of landscape as a genre in the Netherlands during the 17 century, while before the 26 century, the fact of looking for excuses to be represented was needed being for instance, the background of religious scenes. Nature becomes the main feature of this exhibition. Landscapes with buildings or ruins, landscapes with animals or landscapes with figures are just some of the sub-genres treated by the Flemish and Dutch engravers of the 17 century the public will have the opportunity to see in the exhibition.

 

Collectors Vicente Deltoro and Carmen Vives have gatthered ths collection throughout some years, atracted by the beauty of the pictures and the posibility to collect a series of original pieces and great technical complexity. The Carlos de Amberes Madrid Museum will exhibit works that the public can only enjoy this way.
