Jesus Had A Sister Productions is a fictional pharmaceutical company created by the artist Dana Wyse that touts quick-fix solutions to mankind's modern problems. Using humour to underline the inherent anxiety of being, Dana Wyse's pills confront themes of love, trust, fear, racism, gender, sexuality, xenophobia, power, pleasure, and war. The use in her work of 1960s advertising images holds up an absurd mirror to the heteronormative codes that define advertising in a Western society obsessed with perfection and mass consumption.
Dana Wyse lives and works between Paris and Vancouver. She is writer-in-residence at Le Château de la Reine Blanche in Coye-la-Forêt, France. Her utopic pill installation Jesus Had A Sister Productions is the culmination of twenty years of reflection and is yet still a work in progress.
