Cuba’s Los Van Van to Perform in Puerto Rico

Havana, Cuba.- The popular Cuban dance band Los Van Van will make a presentation on August 22 in Puerto Rico, within the context of its current tour of U.S. cities, the Cuban music portal highlighted on Sunday.

The presentation will take place at the Convention Center of San Juan, the Puerto Rican capital, announced the Suena cubano publication in a communique.

As part of the program, the music group, which arrived on Friday in the United States, will perform in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, New York and Miami, among other cities, where thousands of followers await their presentations.

Founded in 1969 by band leader, bassist and composer Juan Formell, who died in May, 2014, the group will tour the U.S. with its new CD Fantasía, composed of 14 pieces.

Among its laurels, the band won in 2000 the Grammy Award in the category of Salsa, with its album Llego Van Van.
